Toyota Yaris: Camshaft Oil Control Solenoid / On-vehicle Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side)
(a) Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Turn the GTS on.
(d) Inspect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly.
(1) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Intake VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1 / Data List / Intake VVT Change Angle Bank 1.

(2) Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.
OK:

| 0% to 100% | Varies by 70 DegFR or more |
If the result is not as specified, check the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly, wire harness and ECM.
2. INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side)
(a) Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Turn the GTS on.
(d) Inspect the camshaft timing oil control solenoid assembly.
(1) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Exhaust VVT OCV Duty Ratio Bank 1 / Data List / Exhaust VVT Change Angle Bank 1.

(2) Read the Data List while performing the Active Test with the engine idling.
