INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT

(a) Install the 2 front disc brake anti-squeal shims to each front disc brake pad.

NOTICE:

When replacing the front disc brake pads with new ones, make sure to replace the front disc brake anti-squeal shim kit at the same time.

2. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD

(a) Using SST, push in the front disc brake piston.

SST: 09719-77020

SST: 09719-77050

NOTICE:

  • Make sure the brake fluid does not overflow from the reservoir.
  • Do not forcibly push in the front disc brake piston.

(b) Install the 2 front disc brake pads to the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

NOTICE:

The rear disc brake pad with the pad wear indicator plate must be installed to the inner upper side position.

3. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE SPRING

(a) Temporarily install the front disc brake anti-rattle spring to the front disc brake pads.

NOTICE:

  • Install the front disc brake anti-rattle spring so that its arrow mark is pointing downward.
  • The arrow mark of the front disc brake anti-rattle spring is stamped on the outer side of the vehicle for the LH side, and the inner side of the vehicle for the RH side.

4. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE ANTI-RATTLE PIN

(a) Install the front disc brake anti-rattle pin (lower side) and set the front disc brake anti-rattle spring to the front disc brake pads.

NOTICE:

Set the front disc brake anti-rattle spring so that it does not overlap and ride up onto the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

(b) While pressing the front disc brake anti-rattle spring, install the front disc brake anti-rattle pin (upper side).

5. INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PIN HOLD CLIP

(a) Install the front disc brake pin hold clip to the 2 front disc brake anti-rattle pins and engage the hook to the front disc brake cylinder assembly.

6. INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR

NOTICE:

After replacing the front disc brake pads, the clearance between the front disc brake pads and the front disc will be large, so depress the brake pedal several times to adjust the clearance before inspecting the brake fluid level.
