(a) Measure the auxiliary battery voltage.
Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V (ignition switch off)
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.
HINT:
-
If the auxiliary battery voltage is less than 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery. If the integrated current value does not exceed the threshold*1 even though the auxiliary battery has been replaced or charged until the charging current decreases to 5 A or less, perform an integrated current value initialization*2 and drive the vehicle for approximately 5 to 40 minutes until the stop and start system operates.
-
*1: Refer to System Description for details on the integrated current threshold.
-
*2: Use the GTS to perform Integrated Current Value Initialization.

-
When replacing the auxiliary battery, even if the stop and start system operates directly after performing integrated current value initialization, operation of the stop and start system may be prohibited at certain times over the next few trips while auxiliary battery charge learning is performed.
(b) Check the fuses and relays.
(c) Check the connector connections and terminals to make sure that there are no abnormalities such as loose connections, deformation, etc.

| 4. | CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* |
(a) Check for DTCs.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Trouble Codes
(b) Check for freeze frame data.
HINT:
Record or print DTCs and freeze frame data if necessary.
(c) Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Clear DTCs
(d) Recheck for DTCs.
Powertrain > Stop and Start > Trouble Codes
HINT:
If any DTCs for the CAN communication system are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

(a) Warm up the engine.
(b) Turn the air conditioning system off.
(c) Drive the vehicle for 5 to 40 minutes.
CAUTION:
When performing Confirmation Driving Pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
(d) Stop the vehicle and confirm that the engine is stopped by stop and start control when all of the following conditions are met:
-
Steering wheel centered
-
Shift lever to neutral and release the clutch pedal
-
Stop and start indicator illuminated
HINT:
If the engine is not stopped by stop and start control, air fuel ratio learning and idle speed learning are necessary. Allow the engine to idle for 3 minutes and check that the engine idle speed is within 50 rpm of the target idle speed.
(e) Depress the clutch pedal and check that the engine restarts.
