Toyota Yaris: Fuel Pump (for High Pressure) / On-vehicle Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
PROCEDURE
1. FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY OPERATION
(a) Check fuel pressure.
(1) Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(3) Turn the GTS on.
(4) Start the engine.
(5) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Control the Target Fuel Pressure Offset.

(6) Select the Data List item: Fuel Pressure (High).
(7) Check that the fuel pressure fluctuates when the target fuel pressure changes.
HINT:
The target fuel pressure operation decreases the target fuel pressure by 12.5% or increases the target fuel pressure by 24.8%.
If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump assembly or fuel pressure sensor.
(b) Check operating sound.
(1) Start the engine.
(2) Using a sound scope, check the operating sound of the fuel pump assembly.
If no sound can be heard, check the fuel pump assembly, wire harness and ECM.
(3) Stop the engine.

Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Precautions
The front and side supplemental restraint systems (SRS) include different types of air bags. Please verify the different types of air bags which are equipped on your vehicle by locating the “SRS AIRBAG” location indicators. These indicators are visible in the area where the air bags are installed.
The air bags are installed in the following locations:
The steering wheel hub (driver air bag) The front passenger dashboard (front passenger air bag) The outboard sides of the front seatbacks (side air bags) The front and rear window pillars, and the roof edge along both sides (curtain air bags)
