INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL WATER INLET WITH THERMOSTAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

2. INSTALL WATER INLET WITH WATER PUMP HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket to the water inlet with water pump housing sub-assembly.

HINT:

Be sure to clean the contact surfaces.

(b) Install the water inlet with water pump housing sub-assembly to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

Torque:

43 N·m {438 kgf·cm, 32 ft·lbf}

(c) Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose to the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

3. INSTALL AIR CONNECTOR STAY

(a) Install the air connector stay to the water inlet with water pump housing sub-assembly with the bolt.

Torque:

43 N·m {438 kgf·cm, 32 ft·lbf}

4. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

(a) Connect the No. 2 radiator hose to the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

5. INSTALL NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

(a) Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose to the water inlet with water pump housing sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.

6. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

7. INSTALL WATER PUMP PULLEY

(a) Temporarily install the water pump pulley to the water pump with the 4 bolts. Tighten the bolts as much as possible by hand.

(b) Install the fan and generator V-belt.

(c) Tighten the 4 bolts of the water pump pulley.

Torque:

21 N·m {214 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf}

8. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

9. ADD ENGINE COOLANT

10. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
