REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS

2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

Click here

5. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY

6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR TUBE

(a) remove the 2 bolts.

(b) Loosen the 2 hose clamps to remove the No. 1 air tube from the No. 2 air hose and No. 3 air hose.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR HOSE

(a) Loosen the hose clamp to remove the No. 2 air tube from the turbocharger sub-assembly.

8. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE

(a) Remove the bolt and disengage the engine wire from the timing chain cover assembly.

9. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE TIMING GEAR COVER INSULATOR

(a) Remove the timing gear cover insulator from the timing chain cover assembly.

11. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY

12. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 12 bolts and seal washer.

(b) Remove the timing chain cover sub-assembly by prying between the timing chain cover sub-assembly and oil pan sub-assembly, cylinder block sub-assembly with a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape.

(c) Remove the oil pump gasket from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly.
