1. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD

2. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY W/COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and back door lock assembly w/ courtesy light switch.

1. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY W/COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH

(a) Check the operation of the door lock motor.

(1) Move the door lock to the close (lock) position.

(2) Apply auxiliary battery voltage and check the operation of the door lock motor.

OK:

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

Y7-1(ACT+) - Auxiliary battery positive (+)

Y7-2(ACT-) - Auxiliary battery negative (-)

Back door lock motor open (unlock) operation

If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly w/ courtesy light switch.

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY W/COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH

HINT:

Make sure to remove the string before installing a new back door lock assembly w/ courtesy light switch.

(a) Apply MP grease to the sliding parts of the back door lock assembly w/ courtesy light switch.

(b) Install the back door lock assembly w/ courtesy light switch with the 2 bolts.

Torque:

7.5 N·m {76 kgf·cm, 66 in·lbf}

(c) Connect the connector.
